Malan Breton AW18 menswear at London Fashion Week

Titled 'Omega', this last letter of the Greek alphabet signifies the end of a journey to one’s clarity and self.

The collection has a theatrical flair with inspiration drawn from Edwardian Tarot, the wizard Merlin,

 and  Chinese astrology

But it also shows a darker side with inspiration from the myth of the four horsemen of the apocalypse- . The four riders symbolizing Conquest, War, Famine, and Death.

“This collection, has been a journey of self-realisation, a point of gaining ones hope back in humanity. Rebuilding one's shell, one’s armour, one’s heart. Love lost, valour, and watching gluttony, and greed change humanity for the worst....” – Malan Breton

Angus Chiang AW17 Mens Collection

Inspired by the 90s, celebrity student, Jerry Lo and Pop culture.

Influenced by the 90s electronic music style and hip hop culture, Jerry Lo (also known as DJ Jerry) who was a celebrity student at that time brought American Pop culture to Taiwan by dressing boldly and innovatively.

Chiang’s AW17 has a distinctive ‘School Days’ style emulated fans of DJ Jerry altering their school uniforms to add pop culture elements to their dress style..

Heart shaped symbols abound

Blessings, messages and jokes that students write on each other’s year book are woven on to wool.

Assignment books that Taiwan schools use for homework and school supplies are used as accessories.

Use of denim and plain weave expresses the student’s trend to alter their uniforms

Colours include fluorescent pink and sunny yellow.

Headpiece made from faux fur to create that dynamic and unique student hairstyle look inherited from Jerry Lo’s style.

Shoes are inspired from the student’s favourite canvas style. Using coloured soles from the unique brand MIKI combined with canvas and metallic leather

Ashley Isham AW17 Mens Collection

Isham’s inspiration for Autumn Winter 17/18 came from the Japanese poet Matsuo Basho. Evoking a Rhapsody of a Southern Winter’s Night of a distant world just beyond the horizon with its exotic long languorous enchanted evening that’s stark, yet gilded with a freshness created by hand embroidery.

This season welcomes bold hues including sunset orange, regal amethyst, deep blue, olive khaki and opulent gold.

It is sophisticated yet fresh, almost dreaming often through rose-tinted glasses.

This season, Ashley’s tailoring is built on cut, shape and craft that is modern and youthful.

A bold leopard print hides prowling tigers

Canali AW17 Menswear

Canali AW17 is dedicated to covert craftsmanship, deconstructed design that belies sophisticated silhouettes.
Outerwear is at times oversized, taking inspiration from the 1960s,

while suits follow the natural contours of the body, shunning excess in favor of a more pared down aesthetic.

Focus falls on fabrics: cashmere traverses the collection in prestigious "double" constructed pieces and in luxurious blends with wool, silk, vicuña and chinchilla.

Many of the fabrics feature distinctive textures from a micro bouclé to an ultra-soft baby alpaca velour

and luxurious finishes like a sable-effect on a pure cashmere field jacket.

Quintessential menswear motifs like Prince of Wales check, madras, herringbone and birds eye are at times overlapped or rotated, exuding a classic but contemporary feel.

Jacquards and other intricate weaves create optical patterns.

Dynamic mélanges of rich, saturated colors within a palette flows smoothly between illustrious purples and  natural browns

and a grayscale that goes from white to black.
