Italian Designer, Amedeo Scognamiglio, founder of the eponymous contemporary brands AMEDEO and Faraone Mennella, created the statement necklace for Oscar nominated director Spike Lee, for the awards ceremony.

 The bespoke piece, commissioned by Mr Lee, is a homage to the late popstar Prince, Spike's close friend and inspiration; the mystical design of the necklace is inspired by the iconic musician "symbol" that he elected as his new name.

 The acclaimed director wore a "purple" custom made suit by Oswald Boateng.

 The piece was crafted in Italy in solid 18kt gold, diamond pave' and a 17ct Fire Opal cabochon, to signify mystical healing
 Spike Lee is a personal friend of the designer and a true fan of AMEDEO's jewellery for a long time

. For the first time at the Oscars, a man is wearing a piece of high jewellery, setting a new trend for the fine jewellery industry and making a significant statement for the entire men's fashion world.
