SANDRINE PHILIPPE - AW17

Titled Portrait de famille
The dandies , come from old photographs with impeccable costumes but yet aged, crumpled by the years stand there, almost impassive.

The baroudiers, in their big leathers and their tapered joggings, seem always to live, always in tension, as if the past struggles had taken place yesterday.

Finally, the animals, with their immense furs and reptilian leathers, appear to arrive from a place not indicated on any map.

These three families are there, they look at each other, they observe each other, they gauge each other and finally mix and rub. The second skin leather completely crumpled meander between large striped fur robes. The costumes with the uncertain stripes mix with them to the silicone teddy.

Families began exchanging large figures over them and other robes as proof of an agreed peace. All of a sudden, through friction, exchanges are made. Thus these great families, initially source of discord and tensions, realize that their identity is inseparable from their unity.

Timberland's Mens summer Boot: The Cityblazer

Timberland’s boot-making expertise stretches out across the seasons with the introduction of the bold CityBlazer: transforming a cold-weather staple into a lightweight, summer silhouette ready for the urban landscape.

Ever the modernisers, Timberland respond to calls for a high boot that could function during the warmer months, providing the look and feel of classic Timberland boots without the weight and bulk. Reliable and rugged, the CityBlazer channels the DNA of the brand into a responsive, style-lead collection with a contemporary outlook.

An advanced design relies on advanced innovation; the CityBlazer employs two key developments to create this summer-ready boot.
Firstly, to produce an amazingly light boot the sole has been completely transformed. Made up of 50% air, an ultra-lightweight injection moulded midsole meets a comfortable and adaptable high rebound PU compound and a tough, grooved outsole for a stable ride. Each step delivered with ease and flexibility.
Secondly, in line with Timberland’s commitment to sustainability, the company calls on Thread, a Haiti-based organisation crafting high-quality, ethical cloths from recycled materials, “Responsible fabric from ground to good.” Transforming discarded bottles into durable cloths, Thread provides jobs, creates income opportunities and encourages cleaner neighbourhoods.

Ximon Lee AW17 presented GQ China

Ximon Lee views each season as a study. For AW17, his study and title of his collection is SHAME.

The Chinese symbol for shame is essentially a combination of  the symbols for beauty and ugly, leading to the exploration of the lines between conscious and unconscious.

However, SHAME serves more as a play on material memories - illustrated through hidden signals or messages -
Structured, oversized coats cover the body , whilst their high slits flash the legs.

Deconstructed leather bras hang loosely over one side, Amazonian warrior style.

Engineered cutaways reveal glimpses of skin bringing a vulnerability to the collection.

Lee masks the the models through clusters of beaded pearls or sheer panels.

Sharp and exaggerated collars juxtapose with loosely draped voluminous trousers.
Like Yin and Yang, a tough leather bomber jacket tinged in shades of oxblood shares the catwalk with a smooth velvet full length coat in soft grey adorned with a scattering of pearls.
