TOURNE DE TRANSMISSION AW17 Menswear at London Fashion Week Men's
Usually inspired by his wanderlust, for AW17 designer Graeme Gauchan took a different direction and decided to look inward and squarely at his home for his collection.
It reflects his teenage years and tries to understand how his
adolescent self would have reacted to recent political isolation of youth by
the government, the division of ideals
and the loss of cultural icons.
Titled 'Nowhere' the Tourne De Transmission AW17 collection was inspired by the Ride Lyrics of Nowhere:
I should have known better than to expect it all
You want everything and you end up grabbing at air
I had so much to give so much hope, we held each other high
But the heroes are gone and all that's left is you and me
I learned the hard way that life should be easy
But I want you to know that it was hard to show the things that I know now
All that's left is you and me and here we are nowhere
All that's left is you and me and here we are nowhere

PHOEBE ENGLISH MAN AW17 LFWM PRESENTATION
PHOEBE ENGLISH’S EXPLORATION INTO MENSWEAR IS ROOTED IN REALITY AND INSPIRED BY THE CREATIVE MEN THAT PHOEBE KNOWS, WORKS AND LIVES WITH.
THE REFINED CAPSULE COLLECTION HAS A FOCUS ON FUNCTIONAL SEPARATES – TRANSLATING INTO LOOSE COATS, HOODED JACKETS, SMART FOLDING COLLARS AND BUTTONED SHIRTS AMONGST RELAXED COTTON JOGGERS AND WIDE FIT TROUSERS.
THE ETHOS OF THE MAN LABEL IS FORMED IN ACCESSIBLE, RELAXED MENSWEAR EXECUTED IN NATURAL FIBRES AND IS ENTIRELY MADE IN THE UK.
THE COLLECTION USES TRADITIONAL COLOURING AND SILHOUETTES AS A BASIS TO EXPLORE A VARIETY OF FABRICS INCLUDING VELVETS, CORDUROYS, WAXED COTTONS AND VERTICALLY STRIPED SOFT TICKING.
BRIGHT NAVYS AND DARK GREENS EXPAND ON A PALETTE OF CHARCOAL AND COAL BLACK THAT FORM THE BASE OF THE COLLECTION AND ARE MIXED WITH THE SIGNATURE THICK BULL DENIM FABRIC.
AS WITH THE PREVIOUS COLLECTIONS, A MINDFULLNESS OF FUNCTIONALITY OVER DECORATION RUNS THROUGHOUT – THE PIECES ARE PRACTICAL, YET DETAIL ORIENTATED WITH A SUBTLE EXPLORATIVE NATURE.

Marshal Artist Spring/Summer 2014 - Saturday Boys
Marshall
Artist SS14 fuses technically
advanced fabrications with classic British styling.
Stand out fabrics include ‘dura-wax’ nylon with it’s intense colouration finish and the compact lightweight cotton / polyamide that gives a softer, more worn-in feel to some outerwear pieces.
The collection also includes several ‘micro technical shell’ fabrics that are specifically produced to a high technical standard to allow water resistance to 5000mm & 3000gr/m2 bonded to a hydrophilic breathable lamination membrane for complete lightweight protection from temperamental spring weather.
...., premium cotton gaberdine & pigment dyed cotton also feature in this inherently British summer collection.
A mature colour palette is apparent throughout the collection. Staple navy, sky blue, crisp white, stone & ecru are mixed with splashes of burnt orange, indigo & sun bleached red.
For SS14 Marshall Artist collaborate with k-way to create a reversible jacket with a slimmed down silhouette. The iconic ma m–90 camo print is on the outer shell with the inner shell in a block colour. Fabric is from the k-way archive and the original fabric used throughout the 80’s during k–way’s most popular period on terraces across Britain.
2 colours are available:
olive camo with the iconic ‘away- days’ green on the reverse - a tip of the hat to the must have cagoule colour of the 80’s.
The second colour is slate grey M–90 camo with silver grey on the reverse: a brand new colour block for k–way and a fresh approach for summer ‘14.
All the usual k–way signatures are present: multi coloured zip tape, iconic branding at the chest, branded zip puller and of course the stow-away pocket bag.
