Canali AW17 Menswear Campaign

The protagonist: a modern man who’s elegance is manifest in every occasion, interpreted in this case by the model Mathias Lauridsen, wearing key looks from the AW17 collection with styling by Emil Rebek.

The collection meets the needs of gentlemen who prefer to maintain a level of sophistication in both formal and relaxed contexts, without sacrificing either comfort or style.
A contemporary aesthetic characterised by clean lines, where iconic fabrics from the grand tradition of men’s’ tailoring intertwine and overlap, giving rise to new and unexpected patterns and motifs.

A palette of saturated colours: plum, browns from natural to burnt; white and black, and a myriad of gradations of grey, which enhance the texture and preciousness of natural fibres like cashmere, chinchilla and Vicuna.

Tailoring is the essence of Canali style and elegance, and remains the absolute protagonist in every single image of the Autumn Winter 2017 campaign.

Songzio AW17 Menswear at London Fashion Week

Internationally acclaimed South Korean designer, SONGZIO presents the AW17 collection entitled “Misanthrope” at London Fashion Week Men’s. This season marks the brand’s second UK showcase outside of the Paris and Seoul fashion weeks.

AW17 collection – “Misanthrope”, visually depicts the story of a young man, walking the cold yet serene street on a eerie morning of an unknown city.

This stern and almost ascetic young man immersed in his own high sense of beauty and life finds himself charmed and warmed by the winter lights piercing the cold mist of dawn.

His heart warmed, touched and inspired, finds himself alone in the city’s false winter.

Free flowing shirts and voluminous trousers are countered and cocooned by long oversize black coats and capes that fall strongly from the shoulders.

Each look represents the young misanthrope’s free and light conscience, cocooned by the heaviness of his own asceticism.

The result is a collection that is dramatic and bold yet balanced with delicate artworks, depicted through dark armour like outerwear and juxtaposed with light sensual, delicate art prints underneath.

Dense knitwear from capes to voluminous bomber jackets in hues of brown and black are complimented by the warm touch of mustang patchwork.

Blurring the boundaries of fashion and art and continuing with the concept, ‘Paint on Black’, each item of the collection emanates from the season’s original paintings, painted by the designer himself.

The fusion of abstract art with modernist clothing is the brand’s unique signature style. From cold sharply tailored suits to romantic volumes, every season is another delicately curated exposition

Art prints find themselves in both the inner wears as well as on leather jackets, bombers and in the linings of tailored jackets.

TURNBULL & ASSER - London Collections Men - Autumn Winter 2016

AW16 - THE ARTIST AND THE ARCHITECT
“Do not fear to be eccentric in opinion, for every opinion now accepted was once eccentric.” ― Bertrand Russell

For Autumn/Winter ‘16, Turnbull & Asser exploits the contrasting elements of two different worlds. Inspired by a reading list that includes George Orwell’s ‘1984’, Ayn Rand’s ‘The Fountain Head’ and Robert Louis Stevenson’s ‘The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’, T&A have created two conflicting protagonists, known simply as ‘The Artist’ and ‘The Architect’.

Their showcase juxtaposes the colourful chaos of ‘The Artist’ and the monochromatic simplicity of ‘The Architect’ through an interesting blend of pattern and texture.

The Artist
The Architect
Blurring the lines between formal and informal, suits can be easily worn as separates to enhance pattern and textile combinations.

Continuing their relationship with Fox Brothers, they have injected a riot of colour into both lightweight wool blazers and overcoats, while patterned wool bombers and contemporary waxed cotton jackets add depth to the collection.

Rainwear is kept simple with exclusive weather-proofed shirting cloths in lightweight mac silhouettes.

Formalist shirting is inspired by architectural schematic sketches and emphasises the power of the simple check by playing with a micro-to-macro scale. Imagining the wardrobe of Brutalist architects, small introductions of stripped-back monochrome and moody navy reference to their 60s and 70s archive.

On the opposing side, the Informalist designs add playful twists to classic poplin stripes and blue paint stroke jacquards, inspired by a bespoke order by Pablo Picasso. Colour is evident with rainbow splashes over checks, lightly brushed cottons and luxury denim/cashmere blends.

The necktie has become a canvas for creativity – brought to life are an incredible array of motifs including intricate drawings of London’s most iconic buildings alongside psychedelic scribblings.
The humble pocket square has been elevated to a work of art through the mega-square, an elaborate 140cm² blend of wool and silk that can be worn as scarves.
