Blood Brother Spring/Summer 2017 at London Collections Men

Being a British brand, for summer outerwear is of course key to the collection. Statement pieces include Blood Brother's take on the oversized trench coats- light for summer but with weatherproofing being a necessity.

The fisherman gillet with multiple oversized pockets for those more hobby style retreats such as a fishing expedition are layered with a suede bomber for the hardier outdoor days.

Summer checks and classic pin stripes are seen in  tailored trousers, suit jackets, zipped lightweight bombers, shorts and shirting.

Wider leg trousers are worn on the waist with utilitarian buckle fastening.

Shorts are in jersey, lightweight wool and technical fabrics with weatherproofing

Prints, pin up girl and deck chair stripes bring a romanticism to the collection. Raw applique patches are constant throughout the collection with images and text forming a secondary style print.

PORTS 1961 MENSWEAR SPRING/SUMMER 2017

Titled Less Hate, More Love, Milan Vukmirovic reinterprets the male wardrobe with an excess of gentleness, for Ports 1961 SS17 collection.

He adds romanticism to military wear, giving a new twist to their decorations, adding flowers and re-embroidering everything with poetry.

Uniforms have always occupied a privileged place in the fashion pantheon. With Milan Vukmirovic’s fourth collection for Ports 1961, the French artistic director does not restrict himself to lines of perfectly conceived army uniforms, but transfers their stripes, insignia, frogs and ceremonial braiding on to jerkins, shirts, sweatshirts and shorts.

This military influence, playfully redefined, is boosted by references to classic sportswear.
As part of the collection, a partnership has been signed with Everlast, creating a capsule collection that is distributed exclusively by Ports 1961. The iconic logo of the American brand is reworked in large dimensions on a selection of sports pieces with a new, more pronounced fashion accent.

In parallel with this, abstract flower emblems are also key, appearing layered on raw edge poplin over shirt fronts, in tone-on-tone embroidery on lengthened bomber jackets, and screen-printed to break up the graphic rhythm on sweaters and marinière T-shirts.

The accessories are also part of the celebration. Backpacks and sneakers continue the textile motifs of the ready-to-wear. A new line of objects and small leather goods in smooth leather has the golden signature #LOVE, the hashtag for Spring-Summer 2017, which is also found on the garments, updating the #followme which has characterized previous seasons.

Mackintosh Spring/Summer 2017 at London Collections: Men

Mackintosh look to its rich past as well as the future for SS17.

Prints play an important role - traditional patterns such as checks and paisley hark back to Mackintosh's history as a British heritage brand.
Monochromatic windowpane check in double faced cotton gives a modern edge to the classic raincoat.

This season's cape features an exclusive Liberty print in subtle paisley.

Stripes appear in different guises throughout the collection. A candy stripe in navy and white brings a sense of fun to the traditional rubberised mac,

and a lightweight  waterproof nylon hooded coat comes in a monochromatic pinstripe.

A painterly camouflage print echoes the military references seen elsewhere in the collection and appears here on a breathable waterproof raincoat.

Last season, Mackintosh launched its first line of Japanese denim and this year new styles include a denim hooded coat and a denim classic mac.

Bags are a collaboration with Japanese bag brand Porter and include a rucksack, shoulder bag and tote. Mackintosh's signature rubberised cloth is used on the bags, ensuring they are waterproof and lightweight, with the camouflage print seen in the mainline collection echoed here as well as classic brown and beige.
Mirroring the stylish and classic coats, the presentation was held in The Palm Court at the Waldorf Hilton hotel in London during London Collections Men.

Highlights include tailoring in lightweight summer cloths including wool, silk, and linen blends which feature in a sophisticated colour palette of ecru, mid blues and warm greys.

A bright blue dinner suit with an ottoman facing lapel is the epicentre of this story. It’s lighter than the average suit but still screams glamour.

Silk jacquard cocktail jackets and a cream dinner suit complete the black tie offer.

; while three piece suits in light grey or classic navy have a certain ubiquity.

A hero piece of the collection is an unashamedly British double breasted blazer. Made in lightweight flannel, the six button French Navy knockout is old school dressing for the younger generation.

Also important are suits that can be broken down into separates giving more choice.
Chester Barrie make this look simple with their new range of suit separates, designed to be mixed and matched for versatility and maximum impact.

Panos Emporia Men’s Swimwear Takes Inspiration From Football Stars

Ever seen Ronaldo, Zlatan and co roll up their shorts to get that all over tan on the beach? Just in time for Euro 2016 there is a new type of swimwear that will allow you to look like your footballing heroes and get that perfect Ronaldo tan.

The most surprising thing is that the idea has not originated in sunny Brazil and instead comes all the way from cool Sweden.
The new ‘Meander’ swim shorts are designed by Swedish beach and swimwear designer Panos Papadopoulos who has for the last 30 years challenged and developed fashion trends having owned the rights for the Miss Sweden contest and collaborating with models and actresses such as ex-Bay Watch star Traci Bingham.
Meander’s design has been created out of a real problem that Panos himself and many with him have experienced during decades. He has during the past five years worked to elaborate and create a new product that has a comfortable fit, full mobility and has the ability to perform an even tan for all men, .
Without changing shorts, men can open up the sides of Meander with a well hidden zipper. The fabric rolls up, smoothly fastens with push bottoms in the front and in the back and becomes an elegant shorter brief. By opening up the zippers, you also get full mobility for beach- and water sports.
