Polo Ralph Lauren - AW16 Menswear at New York Fashion Week

The Polo Ralph Lauren Men’s 2016 Collection celebrates the essence of Polo: iconic pieces that reflect the wearer’s full, expansive lifestyle – and his impeccable taste.

This season’s top looks for men show the breadth of the brand that spans gentleman’s haberdashery to an adventurer’s outfitter. The offerings show a depth of modernity, understated ease, rugged mixed with refined, and a signature sense of cool. There is a thorough recognition of the art of dressing.
Fair Isle sweaters are treated with incredible designs and colours, chunky sculpted sweaters and luxurious cable cashmeres highlight the quality of craft inherent to Polo. Signature washed-plaid shirts enjoy a renaissance in traditional sporting hues.

A featherweight three-piece suede suit ( 2nd left in below image) stands with versions in faded denim and heritage cord (far right in below image) , and fine tailored elements are paired with dark, refined denim jeans. The important suiting includes narrower silhouettes, softer shoulders, and a modern versatility that comes with iconic tweed, plaid and herringbone jackets innovatively crafted as deconstructed and unlined. A further polished look comes from ties in traditional Polo prints and patterns, special details such as leather buttons, bellow pockets and suede trim on sleeves and under-collars.

Polo Sport for men enhances its technical focus with full revved-up outfitting, including a running jacket with a reflective camouflage pattern and pullover hoodie with a cold-weather running mask, as well as offering the most luxurious après-sport cashmere sweaters and pants, and shearling jackets.
Surplus-inspired chinos evoke a laid-back life outdoors, while new dark-washed super-slim jeans fit the dressed-down workday and weekend in the city. Joggers are paired with jackets for downtown edge. Pants are lighter and with stretch for comfort.

The classic sartorial sportcoat has been spun into a new instant icon: a sweaterlike, unconstructed jacket, perfect for the on-the-go guy.
“What’s exciting to me right now is the look of new traditionalism. It’s an authentic way of dressing with an individual, counter-culture style that is the foundation of my Polo brand. It’s cool and confident—dressed-up without losing its ease and originality,” Ralph Lauren said.
The  presentation was attended by musician Ciara, American footballer Russell Wilson and actresses Camilla Belle and Emma Roberts.

GILLETTE LAUNCHES NEW FUSION PROSHIELD™ WITH LUBRICATION

Guys take a surprising number of re-strokes during their shave which cause irritation and, in the on-going pursuit of the ultimate comfort and closeness, Gillette has changed its razor blades so
guys don’t have to change the way they shave

According to recent studies1, most guys take on average 170 strokes every time they shave, and 120 of them are re-strokes over the same area of the face after the initial strokes have wiped away most of the protective shave gel.  Despite all of the advances in blade technology, many guys still experience some irritation, largely due to these re-strokes.

Instead of expecting guys to change how they shave, Gillette® has made its best razor blades even better to shield guys from irritation.

The new Gillette Fusion® ProShield™ with lubrication before and after the blades shields against irritation during every shave – no matter how many strokes he takes.

When it comes to shaving on auto-pilot, guys re-stroke over the same area, wiping away the shave gel. Shaving over the same spot without lubrication can cause skin irritation, redness and bumps that keep guys from looking and feeling their best. That’s why Gillette developed Fusion ProShield, engineered to proactively shield against irritation, with new lubrication before the blades in addition to the Lubrastrip after the blades, while still delivering incredible closeness.

“With the latest razor technology, excessive re-stroking isn’t necessary for a close shave, but old habits are hard to break,” said Tina Koehler, Senior Brand Manager Shave Care; “At Gillette, we constantly look for solutions to help improve the shave for guys, and that is why we are introducing Fusion ProShield with lubrication before and after the blades, to help shield from irritation during the shave.  We have changed our razor blades so guys don’t need to change the way they shave.”

Simon Miller AW16 Collection

The AW16 Collection is inspired by the culture of 1990's blending skate and minimalism.

Wide leg faded jeans, boxy hoodies and oversized parkas are juxtaposed with alpaca pullovers paired with tonal canvas pants.

The colours derive from the natural minerals of the ochre mountains - oxblood deep reds surrounded by natural forest greens and subtle hints of ochre.

The denim has a focus on wearable vintage washes, subtle distressing and perfected fits.
The range includes M001 narrow, M002 slim and M004 wide.

Made in Japan is a growing capsule within the SIMON MILLER collection, showcasing the detailed craftsmanship achieved in heavily distressed jeans made in Japan.
The capsule is stamped with an indigo leather patch to identify the extension of the mainline.
On top of the Made in Japan jeans, the brand added a luxury cashmere blend t-shirt and beanie to complete the story.

The collection maintains a textural element, putting emphasis on natural Japanese fabrics, organic cottons and loose tension denim.
Some of the key items include baby alpaca chunky knits, quilted wool outerwear, wool gauze shirting and a shearling denim jacket.

The collection is made entirely in the United States.
