BELSTAFF opens in Spitalfields, London‏

Belstaff announces the opening of its second London store and its first in the East End. With just under 100 square metres of dedicated retail space, the 16 Lamb Street store in Old Spitalfields Market marks an important step in the evolution of Belstaff: opening its doors to a younger local audience that is passionate about authentic brands.

The concept for the store is in keeping with the mood of the local area and the requirements of the listed building. The exposed brickwork and a painted resin floor give it a gritty edge while at the same time feeling intimate and personal.
Fixtures are a combination of raw steel and cork, two materials that reference elements of the Belstaff House flagship on London’s New Bond Street, designed by eminent interior designer and architect William Sofield.

he content is a mix of heritage pieces, wax cotton outerwear, leather, footwear and accessories, for men and women, together with a small curated vintage selection and the widest selection of Belstaff Pure Motorcycle products anywhere. Furthermore, what makes 16 Lamb Street a genuine destination for the stylish moto enthusiast is the purpose-built work table which will be used for jacket customisations, repairs and as a re-waxing station. Opening hours: Mon – Sat 11am – 7pm / Sun 11am – 6pm Address: 16 Lamb Street, Spitalfields, London E1 6EA

Fashion powerhouse Superdry and Elite Model Look announce the UK’s freshest new model.

Last night, Elite Model Look and Superdry hosted one of the most successful modelling competitions of the year in pursuit of finding the freshest new model in the UK.

Now in its 7th year running, it’s the first time Superdry has teamed up with Elite Model UK as their official Fashion Partner. Ten finalists took to the catwalk at Superdry’s flagship store, Regent Street, to showcase the latest Superdry Collection in front of a panel of judges, which included fashion experts from the teams at Elite, Superdry and, fashion designer, TV personality and Elite Model Look UK ambassador, Oliver Proudlock.

Fashion advocates, bloggers and editors were among some of the many guests who were entertained with beats from Femme while sipping on uniquely mixed Perrier based cocktails.

The competition was tough but after a series of catwalk looks, the winners were announced as Chris Tydings and Charlotte Corn who will go on to compete for the UK at the Elite Model Look World Final in November held in China.

Winners: Charlotte Corn & Chris Tydings
Chris Tydings “I was expecting it, I wasn’t expecting to win. I didn’t know what to do when they announced us, I can’t wait for China"

The stiff competition meant that two extra surprise winners were also announced as Kofi Morris Heather and Elli Jordan who will both feature in the next Superdry collection campaign.
Extra surprise winner: Kofi Morris Heather

Kofi Morris Heather “Ellie’s name got called out first and I was just clapping, then my name got called out and I was still clapping and I thought – oh I look like I am clapping at myself – I didn’t really feel anything, I was just like ah, alright."

Polo Ralph Lauren - Spring 2016 Collection

Among guests attending the Spring 2016 presentation in New York were music artist Cody Simpson, and models  Tyson Beckford, Cory Bond

Suits in tan, grey and navy are polished yet relaxed, constructed in lightweight fabrics, with narrow notch lapels and soft shoulders. The heralded return of the double-breasted silhouette is featured on a trim navy tuxedo and a navy linen herringbone jacket paired with a cream pant. Subtle styling includes white and blue dress shirts and solid, dark ties.

Grounded in Polo’s sporting tradition, a vivid red fireman’s jacket is seam-sealed for waterproofing and outfitted with metal closures and brown leather buckles. A Black Watch plaid belted four-pocket moto jacket is styled with a navy cardigan, crisp white trouser and striped shirt and tie. Refined cut-and-sew polos, a glen plaid jacket and a featherweight suede navy field vest round out this laid-back heritage collection.

Shades of deep blue create a seaport sensibility with a masculine aesthetic.  Navy nylon trenches are worn over washed, textured cotton and cashmere sweaters and are paired with elements of haberdashery. A double-breasted pinstripe jacket is juxtaposed with a distressed moto-style jean. Constructed from indigo denim, a three-piece suit is finished with a stripe chambray shirt and knit tie.

Black and grey set the tone for this portion of the collection, inspired by the modern urbanite. Varsity-inspired graphic athletic wear mixes with well-worn denim and leather. A jogger and hoodie are topped with a classic tweed jacket. Jackets and pants are crafted from technical nylon and paired with knits or sport shirts and ties for an elevated, functional take on city dressing.

Rugged looks mine the terrain of California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains, where military cargos in olive and tan are worn with faded plaid work shirts and performance-driven jackets. Jeans are washed and frayed for a vintage quality, while denim shirts and jackets feature vibrant Southwestern pattern details.

Exemplifying the versatility and modernity of Polo sportswear, innovative outerwear such as a hybrid knit with power stretch and a three-layer nylon camouflage print military jacket are ready for rustic trails as easily as metropolitan streets.
