U.S. Army MA1 70th Anniversary x maharishi Capsule Collection Story‏

This year maharishi commemorate the 70th anniversary of the iconic US Army MA1 flight jacket with a capsule collection that has been created in homage to this design classic, a perennial favourite in both military and civilian circles.

 As well as a maharishi version of the jacket, the capsule includes trousers, long polo shirts, sweats and bags that utilise the characteristic MA1 elements; orange high visibility interiors, rib collars and the distinctive sleeve pocket, reproduced with meticulous precision.

 Since its introduction the MA-1 quickly became the favoured flight jacket of U.S. Army and Navy pilots, as well as the ground crew. Designed for use in temperatures of 10 - 10˚c, the MA–1 had a 100% wool knit collar, waistband and cuffs. The MA-1 removed the fur collar of the B-15, its immediate predecessor as it interfered with the parachute harness worn by its pilots; other air force specific elements were removed over time as pilot equipment technology progressed and it was adopted by other branches of the US Armed Forces.

The high visibility orange lining was added in the 1960’s enabling the jacket to be turned inside out and used as a distress signal to rescue personnel in the eventuality of a crash landing.

Serving up a delightful range of delicious cocktails in teacups and teapots, their well stocked bar also includes a variety of ales and ciders (craft and mainstream) as well as an extensive continental wine list with a variety of bar snacks if you’re feeling peckish.
With their marathon happy hour from 4pm-9pm, Sunday- Friday there’s no need to break the bank to have a good time. Team this with an eclectic programme of entertainment, this new kid on the block is sure to impress the London centric crowd.
 Open from 1pm to 1am this whimsical watering hole will keep you entertained from dawn till dusk. With friendly staff, a house party vibe and local DJ’s pumping out some old school tunes this quirky venue is sure to attract the crowds and become the next favorite haunt in Fitzrovia.

Jack Wills Xmas Event

It's Xmas time at the Jack Wills store just off Carnaby Street.

Press and bloggers attended the party including celebrity stylist Leroy Dawkins Diary of a Clotheshorse chasing frumpy to funky for a kiss.
They really went to town with the Xmas decorations - Customers can try on clothes in the snow drift changing room.:

Christmas tress were everywhere but absolutely loved the dapper tree in the Merry Gentleman's lounge area.

Close up of the tree reveals the ornaments are cardboard cut outs of shoes, pipe, pocket watches and bow ties - very sartorial. Also adorning the tree are real candy canes.

Drinks were served on a travelling gin bicycle by The Travelling Gin Co

Sweets galore for guests with a sweet tooth, 

And entertainment by the hoola hoop  troupe The Majorettes

Thom Sweeney Ready To Wear & Made To Measure Store launch event

Matt Smith, Dermot O’Leary, David Gandy and Jamie Redknapp were amongst the VIP guests who were out to celebrate the opening of the Thom Sweeney ready-to-wear & made-to-measure store in Mayfair, London.

 Bespoke tailors, Thom Whiddett and Luke Sweeney hosted the exclusive event held in the new 922 square foot store at 33A Bruton Place, Mayfair, London W1J 6NP.

Guests were served cocktails including the New Old Fashioned, made with HAIG CLUB™, the new Single Grain Scotch Whisky recently launched in partnership with David Beckham and Simon Fuller.

Tailoring duo Thom Whiddett and Luke Sweeney formed Thom Sweeney in 2007, opening the bespoke store on Mayfair's Weighhouse Street. Known for its contemporary tailoring with its signature forward looking silhouette, Thom Sweeney combines a bespoke ethos of blending individuality with a luxury aesthetic of timeless modern tailoring and great quality fabrics.

The store aesthetic will echo the Thom Sweeney brand, with understated modern style and contemporary masculinity, with an informal approachable atmosphere akin to the bespoke store on Weighhouse Street.
The store and the collection concept is built around an essential tailored wardrobe of 20 pieces.  All of the collection will be available for clients to select from either off the peg ready-to-wear or from personalised made-to-measure in a wider choice of fabrics.

Braun reveals Four New Grooming Typologies - Which one are you?

A study released by Braun has identified four new grooming ‘typologies’. Each typology, revealed by panel of grooming and male lifestyle experts, has been visually captured by photographer and legendary supermodel, Helena Christensen.
The expert panel included grooming writer, Lee Kynaston, lifestyle consultant, Mark Tungate, author of Branded Male, Brendan Murdock, owner of Murdocks barbers, and Andy Penniceard, founder of Privet grooming centre.

The four typologies have been revealed as:

Mr Mandrogynous 

Mr Mandrogynous: A slap in the face to old-school stereotypes of red-blooded heterosexual males, daily gym sessions keep him looking good as his idols Cristiano Ronaldo and Dan Osborne
Grooming Ritual: Buffed and supremely preened, he unselfconsciously practices Manscaping and indulges in regular spray tans. Aspiring to a hairless aesthetic, he’s likely to use the Braun WaterFlex shaver as the perfect wet-and-dry gym bag essential

Widely regarded as the Artist of The Ocean, over the past two decades Frank has been expressing his unique vision of the ocean.

Farah have collaborated with artist Rich Fairhead, mixing the worlds of art and fashion. Rich's tattoo inspired drawings were used as prints on Farah shirts.

 Living in south London, Rich’s quirky sense of illustration is renowned for its playfulness and fun.  Rich is inspired by everything around him, seeing London as a place of creativity with so much crammed into a small space. Influenced by the work of Ian Stevenson, Rich is further influenced by the likes hand made typography and tattoos.
