Etro Menswear AW12 Collection


Titled The Great Flight: From the Everyday to the Legendary,  Kean Etro is inspired by a journey to rediscover the epic of life.

The catwalk show starts with eveningwear in chromatic black anthracite.

Fabrics are tactile and rich with smooth and devore velvets, brocades, silk, boucle wool, corduroy and feathers.

Reworked tribal prints are made graphic in black and white.

Other prints include paisley in brocades, damasks and devore velvets and stripes and tartan.

Reference to the Greek legend Pegasus are the feathers soaring the sartorial richness to new heights as full jackets....

...as patchwork on waistcoats..

..the front of evening dressshirts ...

...plus accessories such as hats, shoes and pocket handkerchiefs.



The colour palette moves away from monochrome to browns and burnt sienna..

Help For Heroes Tartan Exclusively stocked online at ScotlandShop.com


ScotlandShop.com has been chosen as the exclusive online stockist for the exclusive Help for Heroes tartan

Launched at Edinburgh Castle on Friday 2nd March by The Help for Heroes charity; this tartan was designed and manufactured by the Selkirk company Lochcarron. The tartan colours are made up of navy blue for the Royal Navy, a lighter blue for the royal Air Force and red for the Army.
ScotlandShop.com will be offering a variety of clothing from men’s tartan suits, trousers, waistcoats and kilts to women’s mini kilts, skirts and jackets. Accessories include ties, scarves, shoes and boots (for men and womens). Plus a selection of interiors products such as cushions, rugs and throws. A percentage of every sale will also be donated to the Help for Heroes Charity.
The inspiration behind the tartan was two former soldiers pictured above at the Edinburgh Castle launch, George Neil from Glasgow, and Bill McGregor from Dundee, who both served with 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland before leaving the Army.

Behind the Scenes of J Shoes AW12 Campaign

For Autumn / Winter 2012, British footwear brand J Shoes will be launching a collection that stays true to their signature style – a modern approach to traditional craftsmanship.

Notable key styles and stories for AW12 include:
The Harborough collection, named after the town of J Shoes birth. For this range the shoes will have Dainite soles which is a traditional rubber sole manufactured in Market Harborough. The range will also be Goodyear welted, a first for the brand.
The Guild range features a technical process also a new design innovation for the brand where the sole and the welt are dip-dyed to stain the leather and produce a more individual feel. Colours of red, blue and brown are used to create this look.
The AW collection includes monk straps, rubber dipped lace ends, colour-screen printing and heavy duty soles. Hand burnishing and finishing in this collection creates a unique feel and individuality as no two pairs will be the same.

Topman invite six top designers to refresh the denim jacket

Topman have launched the Denim Jacket Project with 6 top designers invited to add their creative style to the denim jacket. These will be available as in seleccted stores and online www.topman.com
from  5th April. Which one will you choose?

OLIVER SPENCER

Renowned for mixing quintessential English styles with quirkiness and attention to detail. Here Oliver Spencer mixes the denim jacket with the leather biker style to create a navy denim biker jacket complete with a double assymetric zip fastening. 

LOU DALTON
Lou Dalton's style is contemporary classicism and refined tailoring. For her denim jacket she has kept the classic denim jacket style and concentrated on the threadwork and wash. French seams are used which retain the colour during the washing process to give depth.

KATIE EARY
Known for glamorous streetwear, she has added a detachable Borg collar and gold finish metalwork on to her heavily bleached jacket. The lining is of a bold animal print plus animal badges on the collar and pockets.

SHAUN SAMSON
In keeping with his AW12 collection, Samson's washed denim jacket has a contrasting sports mesh covering the back..

MARK MCNAIRY
Mark's design encompasses a cut and sew raw denim jacket fusing two different jeackets together to create one.

TOPMAN DESIGN
Topman Design have taken the boxy 1930s one pocket denim jacket style and added a polka dot print to give a contemporary finish.

Energie SS12 collection


Energie SS12 is awash with bleached colours, graphic prints and a mix of neutral and pastel tones.
There are neutral with pastel tone tees, preppy style shirting and shorts ranging from colourful checks to sleek tailored styles.
New this season are:

AM Golhar mens AW12 knitwear collection


AM Golhar loves the styles of  military clothing and so always brings some concept of this in to all of her collections. 

This AW12 season she creates shoulder and elbow patches within the knit to give that military jumper feel. Here worn with her checkered knitted jogging bottoms with two rows of cable stitching down the side emulating the stripes worn down military trousers..



The above 'Bobby' style was recreated from the military polo jumper with Am adding a special touch of knitting technique. 


 Inspired from a 1973 military cape, 'Oscar' is recreated in heavy gauge cashmere knit. Worn here with plain knitted jogging bottoms adorned with a cable stripe at the front seam..

The Corby cardigan was inspired by the blazer jacket with AM changing the shape of the neckline.


Main colour palette is black and shades of grey, but brightened with blues and dark red.

Leyton jumper has a traingular neckline similar to a neck scarf.  In a medium gauge using a diamond lace hole knitting technique. Worn here with knitted joggers using the trellis technique for a 3D textured effect..
Giving a Cossack feel is the Sylvester -assymetrical shape jumper with colour block stripes. worn here with plain knit joggers with cable stripes at the side.

Also in the collection are soft leather joggers, a  popular piece since her AW10 collection.
Her vision for this season was to create a collection with a tailored smart appearance whilst using very luxurious soft yarns such as cashmere, cotton and angora.
