E. Tautz AW12 menswear collection at London Fahion Week

Designer Patrick Grant took his inspiration for this season from minimalist sculptor Richard Serra’s heavy graphite pieces, military cloaks ranging from Japanese Jinbaori to the Household Cavalry and the battered hats and tweeds of the Everest mountaineer Mallory.  Quite an eclectic mix.

The coats style varied from the soft raglan shouldered with wide sleeves,
 and the dropped shouldered boxy cagoule style to the more tailored and structured single breasted crombie style.  All are minimalistic in their detailing with hidden buttons.

 Colours ranged from the sombre black, navy and shades of grey with only a glimpse of red lining showing as the models walked, to the bold statement black & red......

 and black & blue oversized checks.

Crew neck sweaters are either colour blocked or checked;
in subtle monochrome or in the bright combination of black and red.

Suits were both single and double breasted with slim fit trousers and in various shades of grey.

Accessories included the bell shaped fedora and long extra wide scarves
