Chester Barrie Spring/Summer 2017 at London Collections:Men

Chester Barrie’s Spring Summer 2017 collection is designed to make sure men look great when it matters most.

Highlights include tailoring in lightweight summer cloths including wool, silk, and linen blends which feature in a sophisticated colour palette of ecru, mid blues and warm greys.

Comfort and discreet elegance is key with half lined jackets, which are as easy to style with a fine knit as they are with a shirt and tie.

With the fashion for formal dress codes at weddings, Chester Barrie gives options for formal dress, black tie and great lightweight tailoring.

A bright blue dinner suit with an ottoman facing lapel is the epicentre of this story. It’s lighter than the average suit but still screams glamour.

Silk jacquard cocktail jackets and a cream dinner suit complete the black tie offer.

; while three piece suits in light grey or classic navy have a certain ubiquity.

A hero piece of the collection is an unashamedly British double breasted blazer. Made in lightweight flannel, the six button French Navy knockout is old school dressing for the younger generation.

Also important are suits that can be broken down into separates giving more choice.
Chester Barrie make this look simple with their new range of suit separates, designed to be mixed and matched for versatility and maximum impact.

Chester Barrie Autumn Winter '16 Menswear Collection

Centre - David Gandy
Luxury and glamour dominate at Chester Barrie's AW16 presentation held at the equally glamorous Palm Court in the Waldorf Hilton hotel. David Gandy was also present and wearing Chester Barrie of course!

Chester Barrie takes to the Red Carpet for its AW16 collection.

In a celebration of all that is glamorous in the world of menswear Chester Barrie takes classic looks and adds sparkle and modernity – creating a collection for men who need to look their best.

The stand-out cut is the new Kensington style – a low buttoning db with a shawl collar and curved front.

Inspired by the stars of Hollywood’s golden age, it has more than a touch of Clark Gable about it.

For AW16 the Kensington is realised in three ways: in brown wool with silk/cotton Mogador ottoman facing for a modern take on the classic dinner suit; in navy silk/wool (woven exclusively for CB in England) for a cocktail jacket that works for day or eveningwear; and in rich green velvet as contemporary version of the smoking jacket. ( as seen in top image)

Also of note is the double breasted Kingly style.

For the classic business look it is a button two show six in navy flannel chalk stripe.

While for glamorous eveningwear it is a low-buttoning, two button look with a rich Mogador ottoman facing on dramatic peak lapels.

Chester Barrie is a long-term supporter of the Olivier Awards, which recognises the best of London’s theatre, dressing both presenters and nominees at its gala event.

This year the Awards celebrate their 40th anniversary and many of the styles seen here will be seen later in the year, worn by Britain’s finest actors.
Other pieces that will certainly catch the eye include:
A pink flannel cocktail jacket, cut in the single breasted Eastleigh style with a shawl collar and a single button fastening;
A three piece grey flannel suit in the Ebury style with a double breasted shawl collar waistcoat (worn by David Gandy in top image)
And the same Ebury style in baby alpaca and kid mohair (also woven exclusively for Chester Barrie) which will be perfect for the groom who wants some real luxury at his winter wedding.

Chester Barrie also brings its collection to life with sartorial day wear, ensuring men can look great whenever it matters – be it on the red carpet, heading down the aisle or in the boardroom.

Key points to note are exclusively woven cloths, luxury detailing and textures that are rich and sumptuous.

Ong-Oaj Paraim AW15 Menswear

Ong-Oaj Paraim always veers towards the glamorous and sophisticated corner of fashion and his AW15 collection is no different except this time ‘Too Much is Never Enough!’
AW15 sees the celebration of the iconic pop culture and celebrity status in all its oversized excessive glamorous indulgence and luxurious glory.
For day to evening, the Bomber jacket took centre stage on the red carpet.

Looking warm, cosy and chic was the super soft shearling bomber jacket in silver grey.  Tortoise shell sunglasses by Kirk

Next up was the metallic jacquard leather bomber jacket, shimmering with every movement as though caught under the flashing bulbs of the paparazzi.

Bringing out all the glamour guns was the aviator style bomber jacket in supple metallic gold leather with contrasting grape coloured satin raglan sleeves and an oversized removable fur trimmed hood. All jackets were worn with grey wool trousers with black side stripes, chunky rubber soled shoes in sparkling metallic gold leather and a black dress shirt with pleated bib front.

For the seriously glamorous evening wear it was the dinner jacket’s turn in the spot light:

In a monochrome camera print with black velvet notch lapels, this dinner jacket was worn with matching trousers, shirt and bow tie. The monochrome camera print is a nod to the stars of the silver screen.

Metallic leather jacquard dinner jacket with velvet shawl collar worn with large butterfly bow tie in matching print.

Purple velvet smoking jacket with exaggerated wide black satin lapels.  A notch lapel with the curved qualities of a shawl collar.

Standing out in the fashion crowd and the ultimate in this luxurious collection was the metallic gold leather coat with fur collar.

All the bowties are collaboration with Hawkins and Shepherd who developed a range using Ong’s AW15 prints.
