Craig Green Spring/Summer 2014 Collection

The models in Craig Green's SS14 runway show appear like nuclear zone warriors carrying large plywood sculptured shields.

Whilst bandage like scarves obscured most of the models’ face and vision.

Multi layered as though the warrior needs the protection, included short sleeved tops over long sleeved, tunics under jackets and wide cropped trousers over jogging style trousers.

Raw edges and seams were frayed and black chunky woollens worn inside out.

Colour palette was either the ninja black and neutral creams.

(Craig Green  18 & 20)
Or a literal explosion of tie dye multi colours splashed like paint over the pieces.

Craig Green was chosen to participate in the MAN SHOW SS14 created by Topman and Fashion East to help a selection of emerging fashion designers showcase their designs on the catwalk.

Alan Taylor Spring/Summer 2014 Collection

Graduating in 2010 with a BA in fashion, Dublin born Alan Taylor's SS14 collection  goes for a kind of sartorial street urchin look.
Colours are a muted palette of greys and berry in fabrics of grainy tweeds with elbow length sleeved jackets and side slit shorts.

Accents of pale pink and white lightened the dominant greys.

Smoother fabrics included linen suits....

.... and black transparent organza jackets with less opaque lapels, seams and patch pockets over white shirts.

Skinny cropped trousers created a slim silhouette.

Whilst deconstructed jackets, shirts and jumpers attached to tops hung down like aprons adding volume.

Bobby Abley Spring/Summer 2014

Emerging fashion designer Bobby Abley’s SS14 runway show started with fairytale model princes wearing leather cut outs of crowns.

Abley’s own signature design of the Teddy Bear silhouette was incorporated on to tops...

... and hidden in between the regal Fleur de Lys.

Disney Snow White’s blue bird fluttered around as tattoos on the models faces, necks, arms and knees as well as shirts and tees.

Like the fairy tales the colour palette was sugar sweet with candy pinks, powdery greys....

.... and basket weave prints of golden toffee.

Topman Spring/Summer 2014 Collection

For SS14, TOPMAN has gone for the rodeo showmanship style with silk embroidered shirts over black skinny polo necks worn with oversized pleated loose trousers and metallic belts.

Absent were the  flashy and garish colours, fringes and rhinestones; this was a more refined cowboy in a winter colour palette of the  classic monochrome black and white with accents of deep burgundies and blue

Plus we can’t forget that ‘There’s gold in them thar collection’.

Embroidery also graced the lapels of tailored silky jackets and jumpers.

But watch out, some of those embroidered flowers have whopping big spiders stitched amongst them! And with this bronze shirt it’s all spiders.

What to Wear at Glorious Goodwood Races

Although traditional attire for Glorious Goodwood Races, the wearing of the linen suit is not obligatory but a jacket is. And remember even in hot weather you need to wear a tie or cravat with the jacket.
To make sure you still look stylish amongst all those dapper linen suits, here are two blazers with a contemporary twist. Both from the menswear brand 1... Like No Other. The brand specialises in unique prints and limited editions.
Subtlety is the style of the bronze Navaho Herringbone linen jacket. You may have to look twice to notice the slim piping around the lapels, pockets and cuffs in a ditsy floral pattern. Blending in but more noticeable is the wider trim on the bottom of the front opening. Check out the jacket lining in the brand’s signature teapot tailor print. Fabric: 100% linen. Price £350

Agi & Sam For Topman - The Owls Collection

This new collection launches 16 May and the concept was inspired by football and football kits.

Particularly between 1990-92 when kits were adorned by amazing prints.

They decided to name their collection after a fictitious football club ‘The Owls’.....

.... with all prints inspired by owls and their eggs, shells and feathers.

They then imagined a young handsome George Best wearing them.

This collection includes suits, shirts, jersey and outwear mixing smarter pieces with retro looking sportswear .....

....in both bold block colours, digital prints and hand drawn watercolours.
