Selfridges
has invited Centre Commercial to create a pop-up installation on the first
floor of the iconic London department store to celebrate the launch of the new
footwear brand.
Up until
mid-June 2013, the installation features a 3 metre-tall wall encrusted with
wood Marquetry. The inlays include walnut, oak and golden veneers that create
an abstract pattern.
Mixing influences from this traditional luxurious craft and modern elements of copper and steel, the space is the perfect setting to showcase the Centre Commercial collection of modern men’s shoes hand-made in Brazil with traditional techniques and natural materials.
