RAKE AW13 Collection

RAKE’s AW13 muse for the season was the international playboy Gunter Sachs and his relaxed but extravagant lifestyle.
The collection showed two ranges: Rake Lounge and RakeMainline

Rake Lounge (evening wear)

For Rake Lounge’s silk twill trousers, inspiration came from Sach’s collection of Pop Art and colours chosen were very bright and bold in orange, blue and emerald green. Here the orange silk is paired with a Prince of Wales check jacket designed with a velvet shawl collar and sash belt which mimics the original style of the smoking jacket.

Fez prints in 500g silks grace trousers and jackets which can be worn as separates or as a suit.
Here the Fez print jacket is teamed with the colourful blue silk twill trousers and chocolate brown silk shirt.

The matching Fez print trousers are toned down a notch with a navy single breasted wool jacket. The lapel of the jacket is given a luxurious feel with matt silk satin.

The silk Fez print also appears on the lapels of a modern style smoking jacket of washed out velvet and a tasselled evening scarf.

Plus on a reversible wide scarf: one side the cool and glamorous Fez silk, whilst the other side of elephant cord provides warmth on the wintry evenings. Here shown accessorising a double breasted Prince of Wales check jacket with velvet lapels and emerald green silk twill trousers.

Rake Mainline

Not forgetting the colder months when silk twill may not be the best fabric to wear, the Rake Mainline range sports warmer woollen fabrics for its trousers plus the thick elephant cord in colours of dusky pink and the more conservative classic black.

Knitwear is soft and warm in six ply cashmere with either shawl collars or split turtlenecks.

Pea coats get a luxurious makeover in suede with bonded cashmere lining and double sided Melton.

And so does the flight jacket which comes in silk suede with detachable fur collar.

Overcoats were in russet, RAF blue, navy and grey. The ultimate luxury was the military inspired coat in peached cotton canvas with contrasting sheepskin lining. In shades of icy white and the more practical khaki.  Gunter Sach's favourite colour for trousers was white, so can be seen throughout the collection.

The turtle neck also came in soft leather.  Eye catching, but probably not very comfortable to wear.!

Rake clothing can be purchased through www.rakestyle.com (coming soon) and some pieces through www.thenandnowshop.com , www.matchesfashion.com and Harrods
