Thursday night
prestigious eyewear brand Kirk Originals, threw open the doors of their
Conduit Street store for an evening event to celebrate their recent award win at
the Optician Awards 2012!
After winning the
Fashion Frames Practice of the Year at the recent awards ceremony,
Kirk Originals felt it was only right to show off the space that won it
for them and host a party for all those close to the brand to enjoy.
DJ Leke Aerosoul
The night was a
great success, with the store packed full of press, industry insiders and
friends.
Live music was provided by Singer Sophie Hiller and later on a DJ set
from Leke Aerosoul kept the party going.
The event was also
a chance for the brand to show off their latest 20th Anniversary
collection which features some great new additions to the Beam range in
fantastic colour ways.
The flagship store of Funky eyewear designer brand Kirk Originals has won;
'The Optician Awards Fashion Frames Practice of the Year 2012'
Kirk Originals are celebrating twenty years of innovation in optics this
year so this prestigious industry award is the icing on the cake of an eventful
year. Also this year they’ve won two retail design awards for the store space.
The Conduit Street store stocks the entire Kirk Originals
collections as well as selected designers who are not found elsewhere in the
UK.
To celebrate their 20th anniversary this year,
eyewear brand Kirk Originals have created BEAM, a brand new collection made
entirely of acrylic. Acrylic is not a new material for Kirk Originals as they
have been making acrylic temples for their past collections since the late
1990s, but this is the first collection with acrylic fronts.
Blaze in Amethyst
The frames are gloriously oversized with soft lines and
curves, but with all Kirk frames it’s the fun colours that create the biggest impact.
For the Beam collection, Kirk has used a new process of colour marriage which allows
the bright translucent hues to merge and separate in tones of fluorescent orange,
pink, yellow and aqua, and so making each frame unique with its own colour
identity.

Last night
prestigious eyewear brand Kirk Originals hosted a party at their Flagship store
on Conduit Street, London to celebrate the store’s one year anniversary.
DJ Nikki Beatnik hit the decks and....
......performer Jake Emlyn took to
the stage for a live performance.
And Kirk Originals announced the launch of their latest new range – Beam.
The first ever
acrylic based glasses range has already gained recognition within the eyewear
market for its innovative design and has also seen the Kirk Originals team
achieve prestigious awards such as the LICC award this year.
The party was
attended by a packed crowd of press (that's me in the forefront showing my best side) , media and celebrities.

Quirky and stylish eyewear designers Kirk Originals have used their own super powers to create a new range called the New Generation Heroes.
Here we find 8 designs named after heroes created by Jason Kirk himself and all with super powers.
The style – A black brooding frame with flashes of neon colours asymmetrically placed in textured stripes on the left hand side. The colours are orange, turquoise, red or silver.

Now it's the turn of Lord Kirk of Wycombe with his half framed design.
Unfortunately Lord Kirk is no longer with us as he led the bloody Embroiderers Union revolution of 1439 and met an untimely death in pursuit of his political goals when he threw himself in front of the Queen’s spinning jenny.
His super power was that he could knit very quickly – which may have been the reason why he was much misunderstood by the British working classes. However his Kirk Originals probably ensured he didn’t drop a stitch. With one of the autumn/winter trend this year being layers of knitwear, he would have been very popular today.

This is the Aston Martin range of the Kirk collections combining aluminium, wood and acetate to make a slick but truly groovy design.
Inspired by vintage car dashboards the wood used is the red padouk, blond bulnesia, black ebene and brown amourette. This dash of wood adds depth and gives a strong look to the aluminium temple arms creating a classic retro look.

Jack’s story: Quintessentially British, Jack Kirk was blessed with an extremely stiff upper lip which served him well in times of adversity but did pose certain drinking problems. No coincidence then that Jack was instrumental in the invention of the soup patch.
