Z Zegna Autumn/Winter 2014 At Milan Fashion Week

Titled the Quintessential Modernist, the collection blended informal modernism with an interpretation of the 60’s mod look.

Silhouettes were sleek and snug with slim cut suits (both single and double breasted jackets); fitted shirts with tie bars.

Mock knitwear in colour block stripes (crew and turtle neck).

Updating the look, trousers are cropped with a wide band turn up and sleeve garters are worn.

Smart coats were roomy and boxy with soft sloping shoulders.

The mood is graphic with suits in grid patterns, pinstripes, chalk stripes and wide coloured panels.

Pops of mustard, burgundy and blue were added to the predominantly sober colour palette of smoky grey, navy blue and acorn brown.

This graphic design softens on a mohair tartan overcoat.

Accessories included chunky rubber soled monk shoes with hand perforated tips and contrasts of hammered and brushed calfskins.

Work and weekend bags are fashioned from macro-grain calfskin, brushed leathers and felted wools.
