Iceberg AW19 at London Fashion Week

For AW19 Creative Director James Long takes the ICEBERG family with him to the Italian Alps. Logo ski flag shapes in danger zone primaries are puzzled together with black to form sweaters

video of the finale A blizzard of crazy puzzle graphics slice across a classic twill shirt layered over sleek polo necks topped with roomy, glossy parkas

A new punk-grunge graffiti logo peaks across knit hoodies and zip jackets

ICEBERG red coats, high-vis acid green full looks and slashed logo sweaters mean you will always stand out on the slopes or the street.

Deep purple, a new colour for ICEBERG men, crops up as a velour tracksuit kept cosy under teal blue jacket.

Après ski ICEBERG men in snow-tipped navy polo shirts worn with matching joggers, a new coat shape is tailored in high sheen wool and knit is inserted into soft leathers.

The bandana print comes as a loose fit jean and matching shirt - styled with ice white logo polo necks
Mickey Knits make an appearance

New bags include the ICEBERG tote in glassy leathers and a knit strap marsupial. Colours are pop culture and to quote James Long “punky-mountain” bright: green, red, yellow and blue calmed by navy and black.

James Long AW16 Menswear Collection

For AW16, James Long sends a call out to his local heroes, the people who inspire him and his work.
Waterproof zip up padded jackets are made from panels of metallic tech fabric, rubberised leopard and rubberised lace with acid trims, some with concealed hoods in the collar.

Denim has been treated with different paints, either pray painted as if tie-dyed or overpainted to create an effect like camouflage.

Stretched velvet tops have gathered necks with matching trackpants.

Specially woven coloured stripes of various widths are used for a variety of pieces, from a tailored jacket to sweat tops, while stripes of lurex are on tracksuit tops.

Stripes also appear on special hand knits.

An opulent brown print of brown poppies appears on lounging gowns and scarves .

Lightweight black intarsia knits have images of acid poppies or a caterpillar.

Brushed sequins on a sweater or tracksuit are turquoise on one side and silver on the other.

Fun fur jackets can be thrown over everything

Sweatshirts have a self drawn logo calling out to the local heroes, while symbols and images of the collection are appliqued onto a sweat shirt as if the local heros crown.

Harness boots and knee high riding boots have been specially made by Christian Louboutin

James Long Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection

Of futuristic and abstraction design, the inspiration for James Long AW14 is primitive sci-fi and cosplay (costume play).

In space suit white, the hood of this quilted jacket gives the appearance of an astronaut’s wide cowl-style neckline without the helmet.

Casual quilted outerwear reigns supreme in this collection bulking out the torso and arms for a sci-fi superhero’s muscular physique

Padded coats, jackets and sweatshirts reminiscent of bubble wrap stood out for their sections of different sized quilted patterns highlighted by trim.

The quilted cropped bomber style jackets are reversible. This open jacket gives a glimpse of how the reverse would look like – a layer of mesh covers the padding making it visible underneath. Slim fit polo neck knits are prominent in the collection and updated with prints of abstract shapes.

Jogging pants have two layers of mesh over grey jersey creating an optical illusion of light spots.  The mesh is also used on tops and jackets.

For the slimmer ‘lighter on his feet’ hero look, fitted jackets adorned with both mesh and coloured abstract panels sculpt the body. These abstract panels of coloured satin could also be seen on boxy shaped sweatshirts worn over polo necks.

A smarter option to the joggers is the straight legged trousers in dark denim with jacquard pattern emulating the actual mesh in the collection.

Leather tops and jackets are laser cut and embellished with blue and black ribbons interwoven through the perforations creating a knitting pattern effect.

Collaborating with Kurt Geiger London, the baseball boots were designed especially for the collection and incorporate the mesh panels. For more information check out http://www.kurtgeiger.com/james-long-collaboration

Blue hair is optional. Created by Fudge using their Paint Box range and some cellophane for the skull cap effect.

Topman Menswear Rules Britannia with NewGen Designers

Topman launches a t-shirt collection to celebrate and support home-grown British talent.
Five NewGen designers were asked to create a t-shirt designed around the title ‘Menswear Rules Britannia’. Their take on this title was then produced on premium white roll-sleeved cotton tee, prices start at £18
Here's their designs:

Katie Eary

Describing herself as a true British patriot,  'Menswear Rules Britannia' means everything to her, she thinks her design sums this up perfectly. The print derives from two of her favourite things, the screaming cheetah (she loves anything from the feline family) and British military - in this case a Queen’s guards hat.

Sibling

The newly recruited NewGen Men collective Sibling (Sid Bryan, Joe Bates and Cozette McCreery) designed a print that is reminiscent of a souvenir from a weekend away or a fun day out. It is a knitted twist on a celebratory, quintessentially English memento of youthful camaraderie. In the synonymously British colours of red, white, and blue this t-shirt screams ‘Menswear Rules Britannia’.

 James Long

The Fashion Forward 2012 winner designed a print based around all the different layers and history of being British. On close inspection you can see that Long has subtlety worked the Union Jack flag into his print.(better seen in the lifestyle image -check out the first straight line after the zig zags)

 Lou Dalton

Dalton commissioned Alex Walker to hand draw faces of British Icons for her quirky design, sketches include: Elton John, Freddie Mercury, David Bowie among a few, all whom she felt have influenced British popular culture over the years.

and Christopher Shannon.

Renowned for re-working sportswear, Shannon has designed a t-shirt using his trademark all-over print design. This design uses a powerful ‘ MAN UP’ slogan.

£5 from the sale of each t-shirt will go to The British Fashion Council Princess of Wales Charitable Trust to support young designers.

. The project will launch on the 7th June 2012, and will be available in selected stores worldwide and on-line www.topman.com
